I've been listening to the Old Testament on my iPod on the way to-from work for the past week. Might was well, it is a waste of two hours otherwise. One thing I came away with: the Jews were really whiners! They were not that great of a "chosen people" if you ask me. The Lord wanted to destroy them completely were it not for Moses pleading for him not to.
Another musing: The God of Love having the Jews kill all the people in certain parts of the land and take their cattle, crops, etc... as spoils of war. I'm sure there was a reason. After all, it is much easier to keep the land they were given if they don't have to fight again for it later on by disgruntled children. Hmmm (scratches chin).
